- Our Motives and Pleasing God - Hi Caroline!

Thanks for reading and sharing. I so agree with your comments. I was single for over 15 years primarily because I was seeking to please myself more than Jesus. Yes, faith is a factor, but I had the woring motives. Once I figured out that I was called to give all of myself to Him His kingdom - single or married - did I begin to becoem the person that would be a decent husband (more like Christ). So, it was really about obediance with me. Once I got my priorities straight God graciously provided a life-partner for me. We continuously pray that out marriage also seeks to please Him more than us. If we. by His grace, can do that, we will have a marriage that glorifies Him and satisfies us.

Blessings to you, my friend,

-Linden (Dec 09, 2012)
- Joyful Suffering With and For Jesus - Dear TheHailer,

So you think Jesus was a masochist? He willingly laid down His life for you. I would call that loving sacrifice - which is far from the practice of masochism; which is primarily defined as a sexual perversion or the desire for pain for no greater cause than personal pleasure. If you think the suffering of Jesus, the Suffering Servant, and masochism are even similar then, sadly, you misunderstand His purpose for coming and even the Gospel. Grace to you, my friend.
