- amputee - I did manage my diabetes well for 40 years but age has a way of catching up. Lost my left leg 4 yrs ago at age 51 and my right 4 months ago - both times gangrene consuming the bones in me feet (excruciating pain). But I'm healthy now, peer counselling other amputees and considering going back to college after 35 years and get accreditation to do so professionally. Could use some prayer for that too - and maybe some advice. (Jun 30, 2012)
