Chris Meehan, CEO of Publishing at Believe, has received an Honours Award from the prestigious Ivors Academy, one of the largest professional associations for songwriters in Europe.
The ‘Ivors Academy Honours’ pay tribute to leaders and innovators in the music publishing industry who actively advocate for songwriters, lyricists and composers and set higher standards for the music publishing sector.
Presented by Peter McCamley, Vice-President of Publishing at Believe, at a ceremony held in London on 1 October 2026, this highly prestigious award honours Chris Meehan’s career, which has been dedicated to making music publishing more accessible and fairer for songwriters.
As the Ivors Academy Honours Believe’s Publishing CEO Chris Meehan oversees all publishing activity across Believe Music Publishing, TuneCore and Sentric, which he founded in 2006 and was acquired by Believe in 2023.
Our belief at the time was that we created a new option for songwriters and composers. We believe that access should not be given to those who already have success, but it should be a fundamental given. And over the time, obviously as we’ve heard, there’s a lot of people used to that. We’ve helped tens of thousands of songwriters for 20 years. This is an example of how access leads to shared success. It’s publishers and songwriters fighting for the same thing, and that is for us all to win, and we will continue to do that.
