Content ID

Legals

Content ID is a YouTube system for copyright-owning content creators to easily identify and manage their content on the platform.

Videos uploaded to YouTube are scanned against a database of files that have been submitted by copyright-owning content owners, who can decide what happens when content in a video on YouTube matches a work that they own. When a match is found, the video gets a Content ID claim.

As one of the world’s leading digital music companies, we at Believe develop independent artists and labels in the digital world with solutions best adapted to each stage of their career and development.

We handle hundreds of thousands of tracks from artists signed on Believe solutions and under labels that partner with us for digital distribution. The significant volume of content licensed by Believe and shared on a  daily basis with the leading digital service providers (“DSP”), combined to our strict respect of their guidelines, make us a preferred partner to these DSPs.

Content ID claims

The content licensed by Believe on YouTube is subjected to the Content ID algorithm. Pursuant to this Content ID system, it may lead to claims when matches are detected.

The YouTube dispute process remains the most efficient way to dispute any Content ID claims you receive. Additionally, Content ID related information supplied by YouTube should help you identify the implications of claims and relevant next steps.
