Who is G.A?

G.A is a singer and rapper from Itapevi, a city located east of São Paulo. Before the release of his first single in 2020, he had already built a solid reputation as a freestyle rapper, winning popular battles such as the famous Batalha da Aldeia.

G.A later gained recognition as a recording artist for his songs blending rap, trap, and R&B in a very distinctive way. He joined Believe in March 2024, prior to the release of his debut EP, Sua Vez de Escutar.

To make G.A stand out on the Brazilian urban music scene, the Believe Brazil team highlighted his charismatic personality, launching an artist development campaign that would propel him into the top 200 most listened to artists locally.

Context

After releasing nearly 20 singles since 2020, G.A was ready for his first EP. Called Sua Vez de Escutar and including 8 tracks featuring local popular urban artists, the EP has a very romantic vibe, whether in the atmosphere, the lyrics, or even the cover art.

Given the EP theme, Believe Brazil decided to play on G.A.’s “lover boy” image to set him apart on the local urban scene, then extend this strategy to the release of the single “Calabasas”.

Strategy

A media plan was rolled out on TikTok, where G.A sang for his fans. Popular videos were promoted to increase virality and UGC. Partnerships were set with local rap media, such as Rap Falando’s Instagram page, on which G.A gave relationship advice to followers, who praised the content.

Meanwhile, a marketing campaign was launched on Spotify: G.A was featured on the cover of 11 playlists, and its back catalog was promoted through Spotify Discovery.

Results

Positioning G.A as the romantic “lover boy” of the urban scene allowed him to stand out and enabled Sua Vez de Escutar to reach the list of most listened to albums in Brazil on Spotify in 7 days and achieve 20 million streams in a month. Within 3 months, G.A was among the 200 most listened-to artists in Brazil.

The young artist’s audience also soared. In seven months, he won 48,7K new subscribers and 1.7M monthly listeners on Spotify alone.
